More Parking Could be Coming to Downtown Grayslake

Village officials are hoping to move forward with a new 47-space parking lot in the downtown area.

GRAYSLAKE, IL - City officials in Grayslake are continuing efforts to improve parking in the village’s downtown area and also add more parking when the opportunity arises.

On Monday, village trustees voted 5-0 in favor of paying $190,500 for two adjacent vacant lots that cover 19,500 square feet on the southeast corner of Hawley and Slusser streets, according to the Daily Herald. The trustees also tentatively approved a layout plan for the 47-space lot, but formal approval is still need at the village council’s June 21 meeting.

If approved, construction could start shortly after with village officials hoping to have the lot open by September, according to the Daily Herald.
