I am not fond of mornings. I favor days that require sleeping in and a late start. However, on the days that I do head to the city to work, mornings are a bit better. The train ride is one of the reasons. It starts with my sweet husband dropping me off. Each time I get out of the car I am usually giggling. You see my husband does the, “Do you have your lunch and your train pass?” Doing his best Billy Madison impression, “Back to School…back to school.” It always makes me laugh.
I am trying to be more grateful these days. Grateful for the drop off especially when it is cold. Grateful for the partnership of care and love he brings to my life. Grateful that we laugh and say “I love you.”
I am growing in gratitude for this life. In noticing the small but sweet things that bring me joy. Even in the mornings. Even with Billy Madison.
