Motorcyclist Killed In Round Lake Beach Crash
The collision happened at Route 83 near Hook Drive Saturday afternoon.
ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Route 83 near Hook Drive Sunday afternoon.
Round Lake Beach Police were called to the scene of the collision at about 4 p.m. Police say the motorcycle, which was driven by a 24-year-old Round Lake Beach man, was headed south on Route 83 near Hook Drive when a 2009 Hyundai collided with it.
The Hyundai was preparing to turn west into a strip mall when the collision occurred, according to a news release from the Round Lake Beach Police Department.

The motorcyclist was transported from the scene by the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection
District to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later.
Authorities say there is no indication that excessive speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, according to the news release.

The crash remains under investigation by the Round Lake Beach Police Department with assistance from the Major Crash Assistance Team.
