Homicide Probe Underway After Man Shot Dead In Antioch Apartment

Authorities are searching for a suspect or suspects after the 42-year-old man was found fatally shot inside the Antioch apartment.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A homicide investigation is underway in Antioch after a 42-year-old man was found fatally shot inside an apartment Monday night.

Police say they were called to the 1000 block of Main Street in Antioch at about 11:05 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired, according to a news release from the Antioch Police Department. Officers determined the shots had been fired inside a nearby apartment.

Officers went into the apartments and found the 42-year-old man, who'd been shot, dead inside, according to the news release.

Police say the shooter or shooters left the scene before officers arrived. The shooting appears to be a targeted, isolated incident, according to a news release.

The Antioch Police Department requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force in investigating the shooting.
