One Earth Film Fest Returns to Lake County
Films will be shown at various locations in the county in March.

The One Earth Film Festival will be returning to Lake County with the hopes of shedding light on the environmental challenges of the day and highlighting promising solutions, according to a news release.
At each of the film events audiences have opportunities to engage in dialogue and find pathways to action, according to a news release. This year’s festival will present five films in venues around Lake County:
- March 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake: Hometown Habitat, Stories of Bringing Nature Home
- March 5 at 5 p.m. at Christ Episcopal, Memorial Hall, 410 Grand Ave.: Years of Living Dangerously – Uprising at Christ
- March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the College of Lake County-Grayslake Campus, A-Wing Auditorium: A Plastic Ocean
- March 11 at 2:30 p.m. at Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St.: Shifting Sands on the Path to Sustainability
- March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at College of Lake County, Grayslake Campus, A-Wing Auditorium: Before the Flood
This year’s One Earth Film Fest in Lake County is made possible by the following local sponsors: Faith in Place, Prairie Crossing Charter School, Liberty Prairie Foundation, College of Lake County, Citizens Climate Lobby, Wild Ones: Lake to Prairie Chapter, Sierra Club: Woods & Wetlands Group, and Clean Power Lake County.

Film descriptions and links to trailers can be found at oneearthfilmfest.org/lake-county- films-2017. All Lake County film showings are free and open to the public. Two of this year’s films will offer Spanish subtitles. They are “Shifting Sands” in Waukegan, and “Before the Flood” at CLC in Grayslake.
The One Earth Film Festival is the Midwest’s premier environmental film festival, according to the news release. This year’s festival will present 31 films in 47 screening events at 39 venues throughout the City of Chicago and in Lake, DuPage Kane and suburban Cook counties.
