Police Identify Gurnee Woman Killed in Crash With Landscape Truck
The crash occurred Monday afternoon near Grayslake.

Police have identified the woman killed in a crash Monday near Grayslake as Heidi Bauer, 43, of the 200 block of Wellington Circle in Gurnee.
Bauer was killed when a landscape truck crossed the center line on Route 120 near North Battershall Road and struck a dump truck then struck the 2003 Honda Civic she was driving.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The landscape truck was traveling east on Route 120 when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a westbound 2013 Mack Truck. The landscape truck then continued east and hit the westbound Honda. The landscape truck continued east and struck a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Uplander van driven by Samuel Rumpel, 18, of the 3300 block of Eastview Road in Grayslake. Rumpel was treated and released at the scene.
The driver of the landscape truck, which was registered to James Martin Associates Inc. of Vernon Hills, was identified as Juan C. Mena, 20, of the 1400 block of Pine Grove Drive in Round Lake Beach.

Mena was taken to Condell Medical Center for treatment and his condition is currently unknown.
Ismael Uribe, 49, of the 1600 block of Melrose Ave. in Round Lake Beach, drove the 2013 Mack dump truck, which was registered to Arrow Shop Ltd .of Vernon Hills.
Uribe was transported to Condell for treatment and his condition is currently unknown.
A passenger in the landscape truck , Enrique Torres-Lopez, 48, of the 800 block of Jorgenson Court in Round Lake Park, was treated at the scene and released.
The investigation continues through the Lake County Sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Unit. Any possible charges related to this crash will be reviewed with the Lake County States Attorney’s Office upon completion of the investigation.
