Police Investigating Death of Juvenile Found on Allendale Association Property in Lake Villa
The boy was found unresponsive Wednesday night.

LAKE VILLA, IL - An investigation is underway into the death of a juvenile who was found unresponsive on the Allendale Association property in Lake Villa Wednesday night.
The male juvenile, who was a full-time resident at Allendale Association in Lake Villa, was taken to Condell Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, said Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli.
The Lake Villa Police Department has requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force aid in the death investigation. As part of that investigation, Lake County Major Crime Task Force investigators are speaking Thursday with Allendale Association staff members and clients. Since the investigation involves a juvenile, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has been notified, Covelli said in a news release.

The child's identity, including his age and hometown, are being withheld as his family members are being notified, Covelli said. An autopsy will be conducted Friday morning to determine a cause of death.
Allendale Association, at 1 Offield Drive in Lake Villa, is a non-profit organization that offers care, education, treatment and advocacy for troubled children, youth and their families, according to the organization's website. Allendale's residential treatment program houses 150 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 21 years old.
