Profits From Thursday Concert To Benefit Boy Thrown From Carnival Ride
The village of Antioch will be donating all profits from food, drinks and a raffle sales at its Thursday concert to Huntley and his family.
ANTIOCH, IL — All food and drink proceeds from the village of Antioch's final concert for the summer on Thursday will be donated to Huntley, a 10-year-old boy who was thrown from a carnival ride while at a local festival this past summer.
All profits from a raffle at the concert, which will feature music from Mike & Joe, will also benefit Huntley and his family. This week's "It's Thursday" concert series runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Antioch Bandshell, 900 Skidmore Drive.
Notes and cards will be collected at the event and shared with Huntley and his family, according to a news release from the village of Antioch.

On July 16, Huntley was seriously injured when he was thrown 10 to 20 feet in the air from the Moby Dick ride while visiting the Taste of Antioch festival. He sustained injuries to his face, jaw and the bones in one leg, and also underwent surgery, according to the Daily Herald.
Huntley's uncle, Robert Pohlman, set up a GoFundMe for his nephew, which has brought in more than $47,000 as of Wednesday. Pohlman said Huntley has a long road to recovery but is doing well — he also added the family has been advised not to provide more updates regarding his condition due to legal reasons.

Pohlman said the funds raised will help pay for Huntley's surgeries and medical care while his mom and dad are out of work.
He described his nephew as a "strong kid" who once broke his arm and pushed the bone back in on his own because "it didn't hurt."
