Pumpkin Composting Event Set For Nov. 7

The Libertyville Sustainability Commission, in partnership with SWALCO and Groot will host a one day pumpkin compost event on November 7th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Adler Pool parking lot located at 1500 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Drop off your pumpkins, squashes or gourds in a dumpster provided by Groot. All candles, yarn, plastic or other decorations must be removed.

Why compost? Composting reduces waste that is sent to landfills, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and reduces the amount of water in landfills.
