Relay for Life: Schedule of Events

The Grayslake and Round Lake area's Relay for Life will kick off Saturday at the Round Lake High School, 800 High School Drive in Round Lake.

More than 300 people will take part in the walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society, which among other things, organizes rides for patients to and from treatment, offers college scholarships for cancer survivors, helps women deal with skin and hair changes during treatment, and more.

The 12-hour event Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22 is packed full of festivities and entertainment.

Saturday, July 21

• 6 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies
• 6:30 p.m. - Survivors Lap
• 7 p.m. - Mr. and Mrs. Relay
• 7:15 p.m. - Dance Exchange
• 8 p.m. - Zumba
• 8:30 p.m. - Jazzercize
• 9 p.m. - Elvis
• 10:30 p.m. - Luminaria Ceremony
• 11 p.m. - Magician

Sunday, July 22

• Midnight - Fight Back
• 12:30 a.m. - Talent Show
• 1:30 a.m. - The band, Convolution
• 2:30 a.m. - Dance Contest
• 5 a.m. - Closing Ceremonies

If you want to participate, it's not too late. There is no registration fee or team requirements, and you can sign up at the Relay for Life Saturday at the Round Lake High School.
