Pritzker Appoints Lake Co. Sheriff State Board
The Board has 11 appointed members and six statutory members, and all play a crucial role in professionalizing Illinois law enforcement.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce Sheriff John Idleburg has been appointed as a Board Member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board is the state agency which is mandated to promote and maintain a high level of professional standards for law enforcement and correctional officers. The Board is responsible for establishing mandatory minimum thresholds which govern the hiring and training of law enforcement personnel. The Board has 11 appointed members and six statutory members, and all play a crucial role in professionalizing Illinois law enforcement.
Sheriff John Idleburg is excited to have the ability to ensure the community’s values and expectations are mirrored in the performance of statewide law enforcement. Sheriff Idleburg said, “It is an honor to represent the Lake County community at this level. I, along with my staff, have been working diligently to ensure our employees are skillfully trained and our operational policies represent the community’s expectations. I look forward to sharing the successful implementations we have made at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office with the Board.”
