Teen Pulled From Lake Dies
Authorities were first called to Lake Leopold in Grayslake for a report of a man who had gone underwater after having difficulty swimming.

GRAYSLAKE, IL -- A 19-year-old man has died after he started having difficulty swimming and went underwater in Lake Leopold in the Prairie Crossing subdivision in Grayslake Wednesday evening, according to the Lake County News-Sun. Authorities were first called to the scene near the intersection of Levi Baxter Street and Prairie Trail at 5:45 p.m. The man was recovered by divers in 9 feet of water about 25 minutes later.
Bystanders initially tried to help the man, who was having trouble swimming, but called 911 after he slipped underwater. Prior to divers arriving at the scene, two Grayslake Police Department officers dove into the water in an attempt to find the victim. Firefighters first on scene also attempted to rescue the man, according to a news release from the Grayslake Fire Department.
After divers arrived on scene, located the man and brought him to shore, he was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in critical condition, according to at the news release.

The teen, whose name has not yet been released, died early Thursday morning, according to the Lake County News-Sun.
Grayslake Fire was assisted on the scene with boats and divers from Round Lake, Libertyville, Fox Lake, Lake Villa and Antioch fire departments.
