Corner IDs Motorcyclist Killed In Round Lake Beach Crash

The 18-year-old man died following the collision at Cedar Lake Road and Ferndale Drive Monday afternoon.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified an 18-year-old man killed in a motorcycle collision Monday afternoon as Alexis Coria of Round Lake Park.

Authorities say the collision happened when the motorcycle Coria was driving was headed south on Cedar Lake Road and crashed with a 2008 Saturn sports utility vehicle at the intersection of Ferndale Drive at about 2:38 p.m. Monday.

Coria was taken by ambulance to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Round Lake Beach Police Department. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Preliminary results from an autopsy shows Coria died from blunt force Injuries as a result of the crash.
