Thirsty Lawn? Yes, But Don't Water Now

The Village of Grayslake reminds residents of watering restrictions.

It's tempting to want to water the dried out lawn and the drooping bushes, but wait until the early morning or evening to do so. According to Grayslake Village Ordinance, certain watering restrictions are in effect through September 15th.

  • All lawn sprinkling and landscape irrigation is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Landscaping includes sodded and seeded lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, and other living plants.
  • Newly sodded or seeded lawns may be watered at any time for a two-week period following installation.

If you have any questions regarding watering restrictions, please contact the Request for Service System at (847) 223-8515.
