Three Holiday Concerts Coming Up at College of Lake County
The holiday-themed concerts will be held on Dec. 12, 13 and 16.

More than 200 musicians from the College of Lake County Music department will present during concerts in December. The community is invited to attend the following concerts and enjoy a variety of instrumental and choral music presented by CLC students and community members.
Jazz Combo: Monday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Room P101. Directed by Tim Barclay, the combo will present a free concert that includes classic standards and contemporary arrangements. Musicians are Sam Rivera, saxophone; Bruce Lane, trumpet; Will Lukenbill, guitar; Tyler Klivickis, guitar; Jackson Lomastro, piano; Courtney McNally, piano; Rich Bothmann, vibes; Jesse Herscher, bass; and Matt Barber, drums. In addition, a CLC faculty combo consisting of Dave Hibbard, Tim Barclay, Dr. Michael Flack, Christopher Ray and Al Keeler, will perform.

Holiday Choral Concert: Saturday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. More than 125 singers from CLC’s four choirs (CLC Singers, Chamber Singers, Choir of Lake County and Gospel Choir) will present a concert of holiday songs ranging from classic to contemporary. Highlights include “Hodie Christus natus est,” “A Ceremony of Carols,” “Lux Aurumque,” “Salvation is Created,” “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “Great Give Him Glory,” “Mary Had a Baby,” “This Christmas” and a mass choir rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah.” The choral directors are Jeffrey DeLay (CLC Singers and Choir of Lake County), Ingrid Mikolajczyk (Chamber Singers) and Charles Thomas Hayes (Gospel Choir). Guest musicians will include a brass choir and harpist. Tickets: Regular $6; CLC Staff/CLC Student/Senior $5.
Holiday Wind Ensemble Concert: Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. Directed by Dr. Michael Flack, the Wind Ensemble’s program will include “Russian Christmas Music,” “Serenade of Carols,” “A Christmas Festival, Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare (1924), “Introduction, March and Shepherd’s Dance from ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’” and “Greensleeves.” Tickets: Regular $8; CLC Staff/CLC Student/Senior $7.

Concert Band Concert: Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. John Mose and the 60-member Concert Band will perform pieces such as “The Beatles: Echoes of an Era,” “Fantasia for Christmas,” “Patapan” and “The Sounds of Christmas.” Regular $8; CLC Staff/CLC Student/Senior $7.
Except as noted, concerts are presented in the Mainstage Theatre, James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. For tickets and information, call the JLC Box Office at (847) 543-2300 or visit www.clcillinois.edu/tickets. General admission (not reserved seating) ticket prices above include a $2 James Lumber Center facility fee. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 60 minutes prior to each performance. To avoid long lines at the Box Office caused by last-minute sales, please purchase your tickets in advance or arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the performance.
