'Vile, Hateful' Posters Spark Investigation Across Lake County, Officials Say
Officials say posters were found in several towns and the are working to identify who is responsible.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — Authorities are investigating after political posters referencing immigration enforcement and MAGA messaging were placed at multiple locations throughout Lake County over the weekend.
Officials said the flyers, which included anti-immigrant language and were described as "vile" and "hateful," were found in public areas and on private property in several communities, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Law enforcement agencies are working to determine who is responsible for distributing the materials and whether any laws were violated.
Officials said the incident is being reviewed, and residents are encouraged to report any similar activity or suspicious postings to local authorities, according to the Scanner's report.
