Village Issues Statement On Black Lives Matter Sign Incident

A Village employee entered a private business and requested that a Black Lives Matter sign be removed from the window of a business.

On Friday, June 5th the Village of Libertyville received complaints that a Village employee had entered a private business and requested that a Black Lives Matter sign be removed from the window of a business. The sign was not removed; however, Village staff immediately began an investigation into the matter as there was no specific Village directive to request or remove signs from within businesses.
