Thank you to the students and staff at Village School in Round Lake for inviting Individuals who work or live in the Round Lake Area to speak at an assembly this past Friday April 12th.
The schools motto is “We Never Give Up”. Many speakers representing individuals from all walks of life and various professions spoke to students about personal difficulties they had overcome to succeed.
Over 400 students attended the assembly and were requested to ask questions after the presentations.

One of the featured speakers was Chief George Filenko of the Round Lake Park Police Department who spoke about the difficulties he had as a non English speaking immigrant and the setbacks he overcame to eventually fullfill his dreams of becoming a Police Officer.
Chief Filenko thanked the students,staff and school principle Mr. Wilson. “The event was inspirational.”
