Woman With Ties to Lake County Seriously Injured in Equestrian Competition

A 48-year-old woman whose family operates Woodrun Horse Farm in Mundelein was seriously injured during an equestrian competition over the weekend in Florida, the Daily Herald reports.

Laura Linback suffered a severe head injury when her horse collapsed and died while competing at the HITS Ocala Winter Championship in Marion County, Florida, according to the article. She was taken by helicopter to a hospital where she underwent surgery. There were no other updates immediately available on her progress.
