Yingling Event Helps Flood Victims Access One-Time Tax Relief
Local residents learn about tax relief at Yingling event.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – Over sixty residents from areas affected by last summer’s historic floods joined state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, for an informational session about how to apply for income tax relief provided under a new law passed by Yingling.
“I passed a law to create a new, one-time $750 income tax credit to provide some relief for the families hit hard by last summer’s flooding. Because Lake County residents were ineligible for federal assistance, many homeowners found themselves paying out of pocket for all of the damages to their home and property,.” Yingling said. “My event this week helped residents understand the complex income tax filing processes and how to qualify for the income tax credit. This is an income tax credit valid only in tax year 2017, so any residents who were unable to attend this week’s event should contact me at 847-231-6262 or RepSamYingling@gmail.com for more information on how to qualify and apply.
