GRAYSLAKE, Ill – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is teaming up with the Office of State Treasurer Michael Frerichs to host an I-Cash Day on Thursday, July 9 from 6PM – 8PM at the Grayslake Public Library’s Community Room, located at 100 Library Lane in Grayslake.
In Illinois, banks and business are required to turn over unclaimed property to the Treasurer’s Office if they are unable to find the rightful owner after five years. Unclaimed property can include: abandoned saving and checking accounts, safe deposit boxes, unclaimed apartment security deposits, items mistakenly mailed to a former address or returned, and unclaimed property or assets from a loved one.
“There is a possibility that hundreds upon thousands of dollars may be owed to countless hardworking families across my district,” Yingling said. “By working with the Treasurer’s office, my goal to connect the people I represent with the money or assets they may be owed.”
Staff from Yingling’s constituent service office and the State Treasurer’s office will be on hand for this free public event to help people search the online I-Cash database and offer assistance in filling out the necessary paperwork to receive the found assets.
“Every bit of money matters as our local families continue their economic recovery,” Yingling said. “I encourage residents to utilize this free service and to join me and the Treasurer’s office for this I-Cash Event.”
The event is open and free to the public. RSVP is not necessary, but appreciated. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Yingling’s full time constituent service office by phone at 847-231-6262 or by email at RepSamYingling@gmail.com.
Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
