Yingling Joins Career Day at Round Lake Beach Elementary

Rep. Yingling answers students' questions during their Career Day Event last week

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – Fifth grade students from Round Lake Beach Elementary School experienced a day in the life of local state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake last Friday during their school’s Career Day Event.

“I always enjoy interacting with the students and the teachers of the 62nd District,” Yingling said. “Friday’s visit to the middle school gave fifth graders an opportunity to learn more about the state legislature and the work I do while providing them an excellent forum to ask me questions about government and being an elected official. Career Day also helped me re-connect with some of our educators and to talk about the ways the state can continue to better support them and our schools so that all of our students have every resources to pursue any career they dream of.”

Yingling will continue to meet with local educators in the New Year. In addition to visiting local schools and meeting with members of his Education Citizens’ Advisory Committee, Yingling supported the new monumental education funding overhaul which brings over 7 million dollars in new state funding to schools throughout his district while preventing any school from losing state dollars.
