“Specialist Joey Dimock made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great country, and his patriotism cannot go unnoticed,” Yingling said. “This resolution is one way our community can honor this courageous soldier’s life and the family he is survived by.”
Yingling is the House sponsor of House Joint Resolution 42. The resolution designates a portion of Route 120/Belvidere Road as the “Army SPC Joseph ‘Joey’ W. Dimock II Memorial Highway.” SPC Joseph Dimock II was from Grayslake, and he served two full tours of duty in the Middle East. He was tragically killed while serving his third tour of duty, and he was the recipient of many prestigious military medals and awards. HJR42 passed with overwhelming bi-partisan support and awaits further action in the Illinois State Senate.
“We must always take time to show our appreciation to the men and women of our military and their families,” Yingling said. “Our brave soldiers’ efforts to keep us safe, both at home and abroad, must never be forgotten, and I am proud to advocate for legislation that honors and assist our veterans.”
Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
