Zion Woman, 19, Critically Injured In Crash Near Gurnee
The collision happened Friday morning on Route 41 and Stearns School Road.
LAKE COUNTY, IL β A 19-year-old Zion woman was critically injured Friday morning in a three-vehicle collision near Gurnee.
The crash happened at about 11 a.m. when a 2012 Ford Focus began to turn left from northbound Route 41 onto Stearns School Road. Authorities say the Focus turned in front of a southbound 2019 Ford F150, causing the collision.
The F-150 hit the Focus and the Focus then collided with a 2010 Honda Pilot, which was facing eastbound on Stearns School Road just west of Route 41, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the Focus, a 19-year-old Zion woman, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries. The driver of the F150, a 77-year-old Lindenhurst man, was taken to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan with minor injuries, and the driver of the Honda was also taken Advocate Condell Medical Center with minor injuries, authorities said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
