1 Hospitalized In Highland Park Shooting: Police
Highland Park police have advised people in the area to shelter in place while they search for any outstanding suspects.
HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The Highland Park Police Department is investigating a shooting that hospitalized one person Monday evening.
Police informed residents at 8:10 p.m. to avoid the area near the 300 block of Walker Ave, near the Highwood Metra station, while authorities are at the scene. Residents in the immediate vicinity were advised to shelter in place and not open any doors or windows to unexpected visitors.
One person was injured in the shooting, police said, and they were taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

Police established a perimeter to search for any suspects and deployed canines and drones to assist.
According to authorities, a man and a woman were seen talking with the person who was shot before the shooting. Police said the individuals could be witnesses or potential suspects.

Police asked anyone who believes they have seen the individuals to call 911. Anyone who may have additional information regarding this incident was also urged to call 911.
As of 9:30 p.m. Monday, no arrests had been made.
