$2,500 Custom Guitar Stolen From Guitar Center: Highland Park Crime

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

THEFT

• Retail - July 26 at 11:29 a.m.
  • Staff at the ABC Jewelers located at 603 Elm Place reported that somebody had taken items from the store.
• Property - July 25 at 2:05 p.m.
  • A resident reported that they found a wallet near a garage sale, but cash and an item were missing from inside. The estimated loss is $150.
• Mail - July 23 at 6:50 p.m.
  • A resident reported that mail was taken from their mailbox in the 2600 block of Roslyn Lane.
• Retail - July 23 at 1:59 p.m.
  • Staff at the Anthropologie located at 1780 Green Bay Road reported that two women took merchandise without paying.
• Retail - July 23 at 12:35 p.m.
  • Staff from the Guitar Center at 143 Skokie Valley Road told police that a custom guitar was taken sometime during the month. The guitar was worth $2,500.
• Bicycle - July 22 at 2:50 p.m.
  • A resident told police that a man took their bicycle in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue. The bike was worth $140.
• Property - July 22 at 1:39 p.m.
  • A resident told police that their Beats Studio Pros were taken from their bag that was on a bench at West Ridge Park.
• Theft - July 20 at 12:42 p.m.
• Police received a report of theft at the Mueller Honda at 550 Skokie Valley Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

• Vehicle - July 22 at 5:37 p.m.
  • A resident told police that an unknown person smashed the passenger window of their car that was parked in the 400 block of Central Avenue. A purse valued at $300 was stolen from inside.
• Vehicle - July 22 at 5:32 p.m.
  • A resident reported that an unknown person had smashed their passenger window while it was parked at Hidden Creek Aqua Park. Items worth $130 were stolen from inside.
