2 Drivers Charged With DUI, Open Alcohol Containers: Blotters
Elk Grove Village man charged after Highwood incident; Catalytic converter stolen from parked car: Highland Park-Highwood Police Blotters

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN CATALYTIC CONVERTER
Someone stole a catalytic converter from a car parked in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road at some point between Feb. 20 and Feb. 26, police were told.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Mattia Fonda, 28, of the 800 block of Oakton Street, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 24 and charged with domestic battery following an incident on Maple Avenue where police reported he grabbed a person and threw him to the ground.

Carlos Claudio, 28, of the 2700 block of Westwood Drive, Waukegan, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop around Skokie Valley and Half Day roads. Officers also issued him citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver, speeding 35 or more mph above the limit and following closer than is reasonable and prudent.
Rosa Chacon, 18, of the 2800 block of Saint Louis Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol and driving without a valid license following a traffic stop near Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue. Officers also issued her citations for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver.
