Highland Park Shooting Victim Hospitalized In Critical Condition: Police

Authorities are still searching for two persons of interest involved in a Highland Park shooting Monday night.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A Highland Park man who was shot was taken to the hospital in critical condition Monday evening, but is improving, according to police.

The Highland Park Police Department and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force are still investigating a shooting that happened in the 300 block of Walker Avenue.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., police instructed nearby residents to shelter-in-place as they searched for suspects. A 30-year-old man was critically injured in the shooting, according to police, but is steadily improving in the hospital.

"The City will not provide any further updates on the victim at this time out of respect for his privacy," the city said in a statement.

Authorities are still looking for two persons of interest who were seen talking with the victim before the shooting. Police said the individuals could be witnesses or potential suspects.

The city did not release any additional information about the incident.

Police asked anyone who believes they have seen the individuals to call 911. Anyone who may have additional information regarding this incident was also urged to call 911.
