Armed Robbery At Highland Park Cell Phone Store
Detectives are investigating a Friday morning armed robbery at the Verizon Wireless Store on Skokie Valley Road.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Highland Park police are looking for a pair of suspects in connection with a report of an armed robbery at a cell phone store Friday. Around 10:40 a.m., police received a call that the Verizon Wireless Store, 2090 Skokie Valley Rd., had just been robbed at gunpoint.
Responding officers were told a man had entered the store, brandished a handgun and ordered an employee to the floor. The man then stole several electronic devices, walked out of the store and got into a vehicle that was driven by a second person, according to police. There were no customers in the store at the time.
The gunman was described as a 5 foot 10 inch black man with a thin build. He wore a bandana over his head and a scarf over his face. Police did not immediately obtain a description of the getaway driver, who reportedly drove a silver vehicle. Highland Park police said they are receiving assistance from other suburban law enforcement agencies that have experienced similar incidents.

Police said they will be alerting local businesses and asked anyone with any information about the incident to call investigators at 847-432-7730.
