The Art Center – Highland Park Appoints Curator

TAC's 2018 curator, Caren Helene Rudman, The Art Center-Highland Park

Highland Park, IL – June 2, 2017 Michele Cohen, Executive Director of The Art Center – Highland Park (TAC), today announced that Caren Helene Rudman has been appointed as the organization’s 2018 Curator, providing conceptual and strategic leadership for exhibitions in TAC’s galleries. Rudman and TAC will collaborate on expanding artistic activities that support the organization’s initiatives including the Military Family Program, Art Wellness Program, Student Scholarship Fund, and the Education Program for all ages.

“I am thrilled to join TAC’s team, bringing meaningful exhibitions to the North Shore community by curating thought-provoking and socially conscious exhibits,” says Rudman. “My hope is to inspire artists to share their voices and for the public to join in on the conversation. The 2018 exhibitions will showcase artwork reflecting the subject matter of environment, immigration and the Native American experience, musicality, and the sixth Voices and Visions; Standing on the Bridge Between Health and Disease.”

About Caren Helene Rudman
Caren Helene Rudman received her MA from New York University. Since 2010 Rudman has curated a biennial exhibition, Voices and Visions; Standing on the Bridge Between Health and Disease, at The
Art Center – Highland Park, which traveled nationally. Rudman has organized group and solo exhibitions, Humanity Rising Pop Up and Connections to name a few. Caren is a working artist whose work examines the dichotomies between self and other, inside and outside, and mind and body. She delves into the notion of genetics, linking past and future generations.
