Highland Park man charged with DUI after being found asleep behind wheel near his home: Highland Park-Highwood Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone slashed the front and back tires on the driver's side of an SUV parked in a driveway in the 1400 block of Ferndale Avenue between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m on Oct. 11.
THEFT/FRAUD
On the evening of Oct. 11, police learned a Chase Southwest Airlines credit card that had been ordered to a Glencoe Avenue via the U.S. Postal Service had been intercepted and used fraudulently at the Northbrook Court Neiman Marcus.

SHOPLIFTING
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 14, an unidentified man stole 10 boxes of Nicorette patches from the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, fleeing north on Skokie Valley Road in a dark gray Jeep Cherokee with no plates.

Bennett Cotten, 21, of the 1500 block of Wells Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery after police reported he punched a person in the face around after he had been asked to leave Teddy O'Brian's, 432 Sheridan Road, around 8 p.m. on Oct. 1.
Frank Picchietti, 23, of the 12900 block of West Heiden Circle, Lake Bluff, was arrested and charged with battery after police said he knocked a phone out of someone's hand, hitting the person's chest in the process, around 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 9 at 495 Sheridan Road.
Brandon Giovanni Rodriguez, 25, of the 600 block of Walnut Street, Highland Park, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Oct. 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after officers got a call of a noise complaint near his home and found him asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle.
