Bregy: No Space For Full-Time Kindergarten Yet
Superintendent in favor of having issue be a focal point of reconfiguration.

North Shore School District 112 Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy responded to numerous inquiries about the possibility of the District implementing a full-day kindergarten at some of its schools as part of 112 Seconds, the district newsletter.
While stating he believes a full-day program would “best serve the students in the district” and “has long been part of the discussion around district reconfiguration,” the district does not currently have the physical space to accommodate a program district-wide.
The district is also in the unique situation of undertaking a study to reconfigure the entire district.

“However, the Board of Education has asked the administrative staff to address questions related to offering a full-day kindergarten program prior to any district reconfiguration,” Bregy wrote. “We will be compiling preliminary information about the facilities and staffing resources necessary to support full-day kindergarten, and will share it with the Board of Education in the latter half of April. At that time, we will also share the information with the community.”
