Broad Daylight Burglary on Sherwood Road
Someone entered the home in the mid-morning and stole silverware and jewelry.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
Daylight residential burglary
Someone forced open a rear door to a residence in the 1700 block of Sherwood Road and took silverware and various costume jewelry between 8:55 and 10:45 a.m. Oct. 24.
Car entered
Someone entered a Toyota Prius overnight Oct. 21 while it was parked unlocked in a driveway in the 1500 block of Eastwood Avenue.

Home ransacked
A rear basement door was pushed in and a residence was ransacked in the 1600 block of Clavey Road Oct. 24. No items were reported missing from the residence. It appears that a flat head screwdriver was used to gain entry to rear door.
Car keyed
The driver’s side of a black Chevrolet Cruze was keyed Oct. 17 between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. while parked on the basement level of a parking lot in the 700 block of Park Avenue West.

Counterfeit $50 used
Someone purchased miscellaneous food items from a business in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West Oct. 26 with a counterfeit $50 bill.
Attempted residential burglary
Someone damaged the front door of a home in the 1500 block of Linden Avenue sometime between Oct. 24 and 26. The damage is consistent with an attempt to pry open the door, but the lock was undamaged and entry was not gained.
Residential burglary
Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 900 block of Thackeray Drive and found that a rear glass sliding door was pried and glass was broken. Nothing was disturbed inside the residence and nothing taken.
