Celebrate Highwood Announces 9th Annual Evening Gourmet Market Season

Kicking off Wednesday, June 14th through August 30th from 4:30-9:30 p.m. in Everts Park More than 60 artisan and food vendors, live music

HIGHWOOD, IL (JUNE 2017) – Celebrate Highwood is excited to kick-off its 9th annual weekly Evening Gourmet Market, every Wednesday starting June 14th through August 30th from 4:30-9:30 p.m. in Everts Park (130 Highwood Avenue). Recognized as one of the best outdoor markets on the North Shore, this family and pet friendly event features live music, dancing under the stars, creative cocktails and freshly prepared delicacies from more than 60 local restaurants, artisan vendors and food trucks. In response to the overwhelming demand to extend the hours of the market, Celebrate Highwood hung around 2000 Italian lights to canopy the park in light, creating a fabulous al fresco vibe.

Highwood’s Wednesday Evening Gourmet Market is a must-visit destination this summer to shop and mingle, while enjoying live music, dancing, dining, and drinking under the stars with the entire family. Attendees can shop for locally made artisan breads, sauces, cheeses, pastas, spices, honey and sweets as well as handmade jewelry, fashion and art. “We made a real effort this year to bring back many artisan vendors as we had in the first few years at the market,” said Eric Falberg, of Celebrate Highwood. New additions this year include organic fruit and vegetable produce, fresh fish and meat, pierogi and blintzes, jams, Hawaiian shaved ice and more.

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy dinner and drinks with family and friends while exploring the market’s numerous artisan craft vendors while listening to live music acts each week. There will also be tons of fun for the entire family with crafts for kids, a bounce house, henna and face painting artists, as well as a fully equipped playground. The park offers an abundance of green space, encouraging guests to set up their picnic blankets and chairs for a ‘Ravinia Festival-like’ feel, while dining on local goodies and listening to the week's exciting live music series.
