'Chief Keef Shot Me,' Caller Tells WGN After Northfield Shooting

Police investigate but no one has been arrested. Shooting took place at home of rapper's manager.

NORTHFIELD, IL — Police in Northfield are investigating an early Wednesday morning shooting involving rapper Chief Keef. A man was shot in Northfield and was taken to NorthShore Skokie Hospital.

WGN reports that someone called the newsroom and said "Chief Keef shot me."

The house where a shooting took place, on Happ Road between Old Willow and Southgate, is rented by the rapper's manager, reports the Chicago Tribune. The rapper, whose real name is Keith Cozart, has repeatedly been in trouble with the law, most recently being arrested on DUI charges last month in Highland Park.

No one has been arrested in Wednesday's shooting. The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office have joined the investigation.

TMZ.com reports: "We called Keef's people to determine the extent of the rapper's involvement — his lawyer tells us Keef wasn't the shooter ... he just happened to be present when shots were fired. "
