Chiropractor Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of Patient

Kevin Dutton could serve up to seven years in prison for inappropriately touching a woman at his Highland Park office in 2014.

A chiropractor pleaded guilty to one felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Tuesday in relation to a June 2014 incident with a patient at his Highland Park office.

Kevin Dutton, 39, of Chicago entered the open guilty plea to the Class 3 felony in the Lake County courtroom of Daniel Shanes, according to the Lake County News-Sun.

Dutton had been accused of inappropriate touching, including penetration, of a 23-year-old female patient.

The penalty for the charge he pleaded guilty to calls for three to seven years in prison, but probation could also be considered. More serious charges of criminal sexual assault that could have called for 4 to 11 years behind bars were dropped.

Dutton will need to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
