Cops Break Up Beach Party, Cite For Underage Drinking: Highland Park Crime Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR

  • Underage drinking - May 25 at 2:59 p.m.
    • A resident reported that a group of people were blocking their driveway in the 200 block of North Deere Park Drive East and had gone to a nearby beach. When police responded to the report, they found several people drinking alcohol on the beach, including one person who was under 21. They were cited with possession/consumption by a minor.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • Property - May 26 at 10:04 a.m.
    • A burglary was reported at Trinity Episcopal Church at 425 Laural Ave. The reporting party told police that an exterior door was damaged and left ajar. Nothing was reported stolen.

THEFT

  • License plate - May 26 at 10:49 a.m.
    • Police responded to a report of a theft from the Audi Exchange located at 2490 Skokie Valley Rd. A license plate was reported stolen.
  • Catalytic converter - May 27 at 1:31 p.m.
    • Employees at BellaRu Catering, located at 1480 Old Deerfield Rd., told police that a catalytic converter was stolen from one of their business vehicles overnight.
  • Bike - May 24 at 10:48 a.m.
    • Police responded to a theft at Indian Trail Elementary School at 2075 St. Johns Ave. A bike was reported stolen from the property after dismissal.
