Council Votes to Demolish Mid-Century Home

Edward Dart home on Lake Cook Road still under landmark consideration by Preservation Commission.

The Highland Park City Council voted Monday to move ahead with demolition plans for the mid-century Edward Dart home at 1021 Lake Cook Road.

According to the Highland Park News, the 6-1 vote terminated a second demolition delay on the property by the Highland Park Preservation Commission. The commission is set to consider a landmark nomination for the residence owned by Patsy Mintmire and her husband Donald on Thursday with the consent of the owners.
