HIGHLAND PARK, IL - A Chicago Public Schools veteran will join North Shore School District 112 this summer as the new principal of Oak Terrace Elementary School.

Alexandra Escobar, who has been a Bilingual teacher and assistant principal at various CPS schools for a decade, was confirmed to the position by the D112 board of education this week.

The board’s selection was praised by Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy, who expressed his pride in the fact that the candidate hired is “biliterate, bicultural, and bilingual, with a strong instructional background.”

“Ms. Escobar brings a wealth of leadership experience in family engagement. We’re excited to have her work in our most diverse school population,” he said.
