Deerfield Road Businesses Ransacked: Police

Domestic dispute on Half Day Road results in one arrest.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED

Jason Barrows, 21, of the 600 block of Onwentsia Avenue was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and uninsured motor vehicle after police responded to a two car accident near Green Bay Road and Onwentsia Avenue at 9:18 a.m. on March 3.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Nancy Farfan, 24, of the 800 block of Half Day Road was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a dispute at a residence in the 800 block of Half Day Road at 7:53 p.m. on March 3.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Singh Hardeep, 31, Kenosha, Wisconsin was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic control device after being stopped by police in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road at 10:44 p.m. on March 6.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER LIMIT

Marvin Ontiveros, 23, Skokie was arrested and charged with speeding 35+mph over the limit after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 2:50 p.m. on March 8.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Christopher Amenerio, 25, of the 2000 block of St. Johns Avenue was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police near Beverly Place and Central Avenue at 11:27 p.m. on March 8.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

It was reported at 6:34 p.m. on March 4 that unknown offender(s) forced open a side door to a residence in the 1400 block of Ferndale Avenue between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and stole a flat screen TV, jewelry and cash.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES

Two businesses located in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road were reported burglarized at 9:27 a.m. on March 5. Forced entry was made to rear doors. A Ryobi drill was taken from one business. The other business was ransacked and cash was taken from a register that was forced open.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

On March 4 between 10:45 a.m. and 11:20 a.m., a handicap placard was stolen from an unlocked vehicle while parked in the 1900 block of St. Johns Avenue.

THEFT

A Sarto Dinamica Italian road bike was reported missing from a business common area in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 11:25 a.m on March 6. The bike was not locked.

THEFT

A display necklace was reported stolen from a business in the 500 block of Roger Williams Avenue at 1:41 p.m. on March 6.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A report indicates unknown subjects wrote on the north and south sides of the pedestrian overpass located near Old Skokie Road and Old Deerfield Road at 11:19 a.m. on March 7. The writings appeared to be done weeks ago. No further information on time frame.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

An unknown offender entered an unlocked residence at 12:37 p.m. March 8 in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue and removed currency from a kitchen table.
