DOWNTOWN HIGHLAND PARK FOOD DRIVE COLLECTS UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF FOOD TO SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY

Moraine Township Food Pantry claims largest donation yet.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (OCTOBER 2015) – Twenty businesses in Downtown Highland Park came together to collect an unprecedented amount of food in a community-wide food drive in support of the Moraine Township Food Pantry throughout the month of October.

Participating retailers competed with one another to collect the most non-perishable food items, with Sunset Foods claiming the top spot, followed by Therapeutic Kneads and Cos Bar. Together, all the retailers collected more than 3,000 food items, all of which were on display at the Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, October 24th in Downtown Highland Park.

“This was one of the best food drives we have ever seen,” says Anne Flanigan Bassi, Moraine Township Supervisor. “An incredible amount of food was collected and we are extremely grateful to have been a part of it.”
