Downtown Highwood Townhouse Approved

City approves request for 14-unit dwelling between Clay and Webster.

A 14-unit townhouse development is all set to take shape in downtown Highwood after the council there voted to grant a special use permit.

Developer Robert Katz of Northbrook-based RKTects LLC was given the go-ahead to construct Webster Place at 20 Webster Ave. on the south and 25 Clay Ave. on the north, the Highland Park News reports.

Zoning concessions included increasing the allowable lot coverage from 33 to 35 percent and reducing the front yard setbacks from 30 to 20 feet.
