Endorsement of Davis Schneiderman: Letter

To Whom It May Concern:

As a long- time resident of the City of Highland Park, I wholeheartedly endorse Davis Schneiderman to fill the open two-year seat, on the Highland Park City Council. Having worked within City government in Highland Park, I am familiar with what it takes to accomplish critical goals and objectives. Having served on several committees with Davis, I can vouch for his commitment to a project, attention to detail, understanding of all sides of a question or concern, and the importance of reaching consensus.

During the past year, as Highland Park has been facing divisive issues regarding our schools and our children’s education, Davis Schneiderman has taken an active role in working for thoughtful, appropriate, and fiscally responsible change. His stance on these issues is based on professional experience as well as talking with many people in our community to understand this troubling issue from all sides.

With Schneiderman’s experience as a professor and associate dean of faculty at Lake Forest College, he has been involved in the intricacies of strategic planning, budgeting, and working to match his values with the interests of local residents.

In addition to his expertise in the field of education, Professor Schneiderman has taken an active role in the needs and interests of our retired residents. He is dedicating his time to leading reading groups, at our local library, attended primarily by this demographic. Davis understands and supports relocation and expansion of senior services in a location and building that suits their needs.

It is my sincere hope that the residents of Highland Park will welcome a new face to the City Council, and one that puts public interest ahead of his own. In support of Davis Schneiderman for City Council, I submit this endorsement.
