Arts of Nepal
March 2nd – April 5th, 2012
Opening Reception Friday, March 2nd, 6:30 – 9pm
This March at The Art Center of Highland Park, transcend space and time with Arts of Nepal, an exhibition of work by Nepali artists. Curator Kiran Byanjankar and ArtsofNepal.com present the paintings and mixed media pieces of artists living both locally and abroad. Artists Manish lal Shrestha, Lok Chitrakar, Asha Ratna Dangol, Hitman Gurung, Krishna Devi Maharjan, Arjun Khaling and Mekha Bahadur Limbu Subba allow the traditional culture of Nepal to inform their contemporary works in both subject matter and style. Viewed through the lens of a continually globalizing culture, the work in Arts of Nepal transports us to a different world that is simultaneously part of ours, whether we knew it or not.
Join us for the opening evening reception on Friday, March 2nd from 6:30 – 9:00pm. Enjoy sampling of authentic Indian-Nepali food and beverages from local restaurant and bar, Himalayan. Exhibit openings at The Art Center are FREE and open to the public. Arts of Nepal continues through April 5th; gallery hours are Monday – Saturday, 9am – 4:30pm.
