HIGHWOOD FIRES UP FOR FIRST ANNUAL INFERNO FEST - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th FROM 4-9PM

Downtown Highwood in Everts Park - Taste the Hottest and Spiciest Foods in the Midwest!
HIGHWOOD, IL (SEPTEMBER 12, 2012) – Highwood is excited to host the first annual Inferno Fest, on Wednesday, September 12th during the final Evening Gourmet Farmers Market from 4-9 PM. This brand new festival will feature the hottest and spiciest foods and cocktails to test the taste buds of the most daring food enthusiasts. Inferno Fest will highlight creations such as spicy pasta dishes, hot nuts and popcorn, fiery tacos and salsa, hot wings, and much more! Live music and an array of unique fiery foods will create a fun atmosphere to sample the hottest foods on the North Shore.
Worried you can’t handle the heat after expanding your culinary horizons? Have no fear. After these spicy foods have been tasted, the tasty milk from North Aurora-based Oberweis will be on hand for a cool down, post-sampling refreshment. Milk interacts with spices to cool your taste buds in a way that water or soda cannot. Relaxing in the shade of Everts Park and sipping milk will surely cool down those that are brave enough to try the even the hottest of foods.
A People’s Choice award will be presented to the most popular hottest food creator, determined by votes from the audience. Vendors face tough competition, and the Chicagoland people must choose the best spicy food out there!
In addition, the Fest will also feature an all-you-can-eat taquito contest hosted by La Casa de Isaac! The Taquito Infernales Competition will put guests to the test to see how many spicy taquitos can be eaten, without crying for Oberweis milk! Entry fee is $10, and a $300 cash prize will be awarded to the winner! To sign up, go to this link: http://www.eventzilla.net/web/event?EventID=2138967032.
