Sunday, December 11, at 12 noon, the Highland Park/Highwood Community Soccer League will kick off its year at Highland Park High School, with the U. S. Navy Drill Team Great Lakes in attendance. The Community Soccer League is a family-oriented league that is a partnership with Highland Park High School, Family Service, and parent volunteers that is based on the spirit of friendly competition. This season, the League has grown to 13 teams. The League allows participants to learn and practice their leadership, team building, and communication skills. Each team has youth ages 6 to 21 who are students at the elementary, middle, and high schools of Districts 112 and 113. These students’ parents also participate in this league as players on the teams and as organizers of the league. Even a group of mothers has formed two teams.
