Family Network's After School Activities Program Celebrates President's Day
Urban Gateways artist transforms ASAP students into musicians.

Family Network’s After School Activities Program (ASAP) kids had a great time celebrating Presidents Day with a full day of activities. Temple Schultz, an artist from Chicago’s Urban Gateways, transformed the children into musicians. They spent two busy hours making their own tambourines and maracas, covered with imaginative, colorful designs.
Following lunch and free time in the ASAP classroom, the children were treated to enrichment activities planned around Presidents Day. They learned some of the lesser known facts about the different presidents, and watched a short video focusing on important presidents and why we have Presidents Day. The Presidents Day activities concluded with making patriotic wind socks.
The day ended with time for movement and fun in the gym. Some brave kids even went outside for a few minutes! Family Network is looking forward to the next full days on March 26 and 27! Children aged kindergarten through fifth graders are welcome to join us! Contact Bobbie Hinden, Program Director, at Family Network (847-433-0377) for more information.
