Felony Cannabis Charges For Two Teens: Highland Park Crimes

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information emanates from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which can be dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

ARRESTS

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS: INTENT TO DELIVER

Two teenagers were arrested and charged with felony possession of cannabis (30 to 500 grams) with the intent to deliver on June 21 at 6:42 a.m., police said.

Joshua J. Troche, 18, of the 2600 block of Princeton Avenue in Chicago, and Elizabeth M. McGlinn, 18, of the 2900 block of Priscilla Avenue in Highland Park, were both arrested after police observed suspicious activity in the 2900 block of Priscilla Avenue, according to police.

Troche has a preliminary status hearing set for July 6, and McGlinn has an attorney status hearing set for June 27.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Laurentino Vazquez, 48, of the 2200 block of North Keystone Avenue in Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol and violating the minimum speed regulation after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road June 23 at 4:36 p.m.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER THE LIMIT

A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested and charged with speeding 35+ MPH over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road shortly after 4 a.m. on June 16.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 19, it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue and stole various items between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. that day.

THEFT

On June 21, it was reported that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles located in the driveway of a residence in the 2700 block of Western Avenue and stole various items between 8 p.m. on June 20 and 5:15 a.m. that morning.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On June 21, it was reported that someone had damaged a residential fence in the 1000 block of Centerfield Court between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. that evening.

THEFT

On June 22, it was reported that someone had stolen multiple bicycles from an unlocked garage in the 1000 block of Park Avenue West during the overnight hours of June 21 to June 22.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22, it was reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence located in the 1000 block of Central Avenue between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on June 22. No items were reported missing.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22, it was reported that someone had entered two vehicles located in the 900 block of Deerfield Road and stole various items between 11 p.m. on June 21 and 7 a.m. on June 22.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22, it was reported that someone had entered two vehicles located in the 1400 block of McDaniels Avenue during the overnight hours of June 21 and June 22. No items were reported missing.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22, it was reported that someone had entered two vehicles located in the 1000 block of Centerfield Court and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 21 and June 22.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22nd it was reported that someone had entered a vehicle located in the 900 block of Deerfield Road and stole various items between 8 p.m. on June 21 and approximately 10 a.m. on June 22.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 22, it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 1000 block of Centerfield Court and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 21 and June 22.

THEFT

On June 23, it was reported that someone had stolen multiple items from a business located in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road during the last few days of May 2017.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 24, it was reported that someone had entered a vehicle located in the 3500 block of University Avenue during the overnight hours of June 23 and June 24. No items were reported missing.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 24, it was reported someone had entered a vehicle located in the 1000 block of Windsor Road and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 23 and June 24.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

On June 24, it was reported that someone had entered a vehicle located in the 900 block of Lilac Lane and stole various items between 3 p.m. on June 23 and 10 a.m. on June 24.

THEFT

On June 24, it was reported that an unknown male individual stole a bicycle between 2 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. on June 24 at a train station located in the 700 block of St. Johns Avenue.

THEFT

On June 24, it was reported that an unidentified woman had stolen merchandise from a business located in the 1800 block of Second Street around 3:45 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On June 24, it was reported that someone damaged a parked vehicle located in a parking lot in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue between 8 p.m. and approximately 11 p.m. on June 24.
