'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' is Best Movie Ever Set in Illinois: List
Business Insider list picks best move set in every state. In Illinois, it was John Hughes' "love letter" to Chicago.

A new Business Insider list has selected the most famous movie set in every state, and in Illinois the choice was “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
The 1986 John Hughes classic is said to be a “love letter” to Chicago and encompasses the state better than any other Hughes film set in Illinois.
The film follows the day of Ferris Bueller, who plays hooky from school with a couple of friends to explore the city of Chicago. Shots of Chicago are seen throughout the flick, and the home of Cameron (Ferris’ nervous friend whose father’s fancy car ends up in a ditch) is a house in Highland Park and pictured here.

The actual home of Ferris, however, is in Long Beach, California.
Although you can’t go wrong picking Ferris, Illinois provides a lot of competition. What about “Home Alone”, “Child’s Play” or “The Blues Brothers”? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
