Fill a Heart 4 Kids Needs HPHS Giants' Votes

Your vote will give homeless and foster children hope for brighter futures.

Fill a Heart 4 Kids (FAH4K) is honored to be among the finalists for the Giant Charitable Giving Program at Highland Park High School (HPHS)! Your vote for FAH4K will forever change the lives of hundreds of local foster and homeless kids 4 Brighter Futures!

The Need: What’s happening in Lake and Cook counties is alarming. Hundreds of unaccompanied homeless kids in Illinois are turned away from shelters daily because there aren’t enough beds. There are no shelters in Lake County for unaccompanied homeless youth. These kids are left fending for themselves couch hopping, sleeping in garages, and hiding on the street. On average one in four unaccompanied homeless youth are forced into violent modern-day slavery within 72 hours of becoming homeless. These kids are in desperate need for the most basic necessities to have hope 4 Brighter Futures.

Foster care facilities in Illinois are dedicated, they want to do more for the children in their care. Unfortunately, deep State budget cuts prevent children’s facilities from providing critical opportunities to youth living without any family. There are not enough State resources to provide the services, opportunities, and experiences that give foster children a chance 4 Brighter Futures.
Every day FAH4K rolls up their sleeves to provide critical necessities and life changing experiences to help kids in desperate need. With the help of a supportive community like HPHS we can provide more Survival BacPacs, food gift cards to help kids get off the street at night, opportunities such as tutors to prepare for ACT/SATs, and positive experiences to help children heal, while giving them the care and resources they need 4 Brighter Futures.

  • “Your help makes it easier for me to survive homelessness.” Jessica
  • “I was afraid to go to school when I ran out of school supplies. If it wasn’t for your help, I wouldn’t have graduated high school.” Gabriel
  • “I’m more than just a homeless person. People walk by me and don’t know me. They think I’m nothing. Thank you for seeing me.” Lamar

HPHS, with your vote and support we can continue to change the lives of kids in need. Together, we can give them hope 4 Brighter Futures! Thank you!
